Some maid agencies are very rigorous in terms of screening their candidates, while others will simply accept the supplies from the various manpower suppliers in the Philippines, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. These countries are the traditional sources of foreign domestic workers for Singapore.

1. Check around and ask other employers of maids what are their experiences with some of the agencies. Sometimes, a helpful agency can really help you to resolve many unforeseen issues which may arise during the employment of a maid.
2. Ask the agency how they screen and train their girls. It is important that they have a good and sound system of recruiting the right candidates to be trained as a domestic helper. After all, the girl has to be willing to learn about doing household chores, taking care of the baby, washing clothes and many other things, to be an effective domestic helper.
3. Another thing to do is to check the Singapore Ministry of Manpower website to see whether the agency has been penalized with any demerit points. This would mean that the agency may have done something wrong.
Finally, having done your homework, you can choose who you deem to be the best Singapore maid agency to help you recruit the best maid for your family.
