Applying paver sealers can create what is considered a “wet look” and will usually have everyone turning their heads when they drive by. If you are not sure if your pavers have already been sealed or not, because you were not the one who installed them then you should take a good look around your house. If you bricks or pavers are not sealed then they will most likely have cracks from contaminants such as grime, dirt and grease or even weeds. Brick paver sealers penetrate deep into the concrete or brick and they fill the microscopic voids. The topical coating will adhere when the sealer blocks the moisture vapor transmission by the internal sealer. If and when you have made the decision to apply a paver sealer, you should always make sure to read the directions of the manufacturer, as not all products are the same. Reading how to apply the sealer, how many coats to use ,how long it needs to dry before applying those extra coats and how to clean everything up when you are done are all things that are very important and can save you time and energy. When looking over sealers, you have some different options, solvent base paver sealer which usually only takes one coat and can be driven on within 24 hours. A water base paver sealer requires 2 coats usually and will dry within 2 to 4 hours and is highly recommended for driveways. Knowing what to do, what to use and how long it will take are all very important when considering a “wet look” brick paver sealer.
