Finishing touches to the new shower enclosure

April 29th, 2010 by admin

I was really excited about getting our new shower enclosure installed. With a hot summer in the offing (I hope) it will soon be the time when I enjoy showers the most, although I do use the shower every day of the year. Finally, the dream has become reality, and it is there in the bathroom: my brand new state of the art shower enclosure.

Have I used it yet? Well, no, I want to get the finishing touches done, and that basically means storage. That should be quite simple, as there is not really very much you need to store. Basically, I have been looking at chrome towel racks and rails, and chrome shower caddies. Yes, you guessed, I do like chrome in the bathroom, and already have our main heated towel rack in chrome and another bath towel rail by the wash basin.

The choices of chrome shower caddy seem to break down into several types: a small suction caddy or basket, one that hangs over the shower head, or the tension pole type of caddy. I rather prefer the idea of a corner shower caddy which can be placed in the one corner of the enclosure within reach of the shower head. That helps my final decision, as an over the shower head caddy is ruled out. They are convenient, but none of the options require much work.

I have to decide between the tension pole style of caddy that reaches the ceiling, or a basket type that fixes to the wall, either with suction or with hardware. I think maybe I prefer something that fits neatly right in the corner rather than the tension pole.

That gets me closer to the official opening of my new shower enclosure.
