A file folder is used to hold and protect loose papers. Years ago they were mostly beige and made of plain paper or plastic. Today there are several unique options such as the printed file folders which can be custom made to suit the needs of an individual or a company. A folder is a paperboard that is folded in the centre, this gives it two panels. There are usually pockets on both inside panels. File folders usually contain important documents and are stored in a file cabinet. When used for these purpose the manila folder is the best option. Folders can also be used for marketing purposes and almost any logo, graphic or inscription can be printed on the cover.
Printed file folders are available in many shapes, sizes and material. For individual who want to make a statement while saving the environment, eco friendly folders are the best option. They are made from a number of recycled materials such as Kraft paper, chipboard or other recycled items. Companies also used use printed file folders for marketing purposes, in these cases, the pamphlet, leaflets, or business cards can also be made from recycled paper. It is best to choose a paper that has not used chlorine during the bleaching process. There is also the issue of ink choice. Inks that are soy or vegetable based are the most ideal.
It is sometimes a good idea to use printed file folders that are plastic. If they are used for purpose of file keeping, the plastic option has a longer shelf life. They are less prone to damage such as rain, or moisture that occurs as a result of heat. Printed file folders are available in many sizes. The most popular folders are the legal or letter size. However, lately pocket sized printed file folders have become very popular.
